Windcrest Volunteer Firefighters Alliance

About Us

The Windcrest Volunteer Firefighters Alliance (WVFA) is a non-profit focused on fundraising and providing Windcrest Firefighters with the equipment and training they need to keep our community safe.

Our History

The Windcrest Volunteer Fire Association was founded in 1970 to support the needs of the former all volunteer fire department. For over 50 years the Windcrest Fire Association provided financial assistance to the Windcrest Volunteer Fire Department with the purchase of fire apparatus, rescue equipment, medications, turnout gear, and many more items.

Community Outreach

The WVFA has brought many community events to life throughout the years, making them yearly traditions for the Windcrest families and those from surrounding communities.

The firefighter’s picnic is one of our most notable events which hosts a BBQ plate sale, community outreach booths, live entertainment, and many community-incorporated booths. In addition to the picnic, every October, the WVFA hosts a haunted house located in the fire apparatus bays to provide a safe and fun Halloween experience for the children of the community.

You can also find the WFVA participating every Christmas in the local Santa Parade. The WFVA purchases candy to be distributed to residents during the duration of the parade and also sponsors pictures with Santa Claus during the Windcrest Light Up event.

New Beginnings

In late 2023 the WVFA was reorganized into the Windcrest Volunteer Firefighters Alliance. This title was voted on by all of our members and brought into existence to continue upholding the mission of the WVFA.

To this day, the safety of the people we serve and the first responders who serve them remain our priority. The WVFA works closely with the Windcrest Fire Department and the City of Windcrest to keep our citizens safe and provide the best emergency response and services .
